We know it has not been an ideal wedding planning journey for engaged brides in 2019, 2020 and now 2021. We have heard many incredible wedding planning stories and we were instantly touched by each one.

This is the reason why we have created the To Have & To Hold wedding package. We wanted to make the wedding planning journey end with a happily ever after.

We also noticed that when brides hear the challenges faced by other brides, there's always a feeling of solidarity and instant sharing of tips to navigate through all the changes. We would love to build a collection of these extraordinary wedding planning stories and tips for newly engaged brides to know that their wedding planning journey, while different than any prior to 2019, can still be done well, with all the best elements of a wedding included.

Hilton Vancouver Metrotown is looking for the most EXTRAORDINARY wedding planning story from your engagement, the planning, impact of covid, and now finally the search for a great venue to get married in! Please include a tip for future brides planning their wedding during covid.

Your story (500 words or less) will be reviewed by our panel of 5 judges with four coming from the wedding industry and one a current bride herself. The judges will have the difficult task of selecting the top 5 extraordinary wedding planning stories which will be shared on Instagram for everyone to vote on.

The most LIKES at the end of the voting period will receive a complimentary To Have & To Hold package to be applied towards a wedding date of their choice between now and the end of July 2021.*

*Date approval depends on availability.

Example of an EXTRAORDINARY wedding planning journey:

From @legalleeblonde

Alex and I got engaged in October 2020! Alex jokes that after spending 24/7 together for over 6 months during the pandemic and not being sick of me, clearly he needed to propose haha. The proposal was perfect, we were at Jericho Beach and I was completely shocked.

We started wedding planning shortly after getting engaged feeling like 'the end was in sight' as far as COVID restrictions. You may remember, back in October things were really looking up! We decided on a July 10th wedding at a venue here in Vancouver. As rules have changed (and changed, and changed) over these past 5 months we realized that our vision for our big wedding was likely not going to happen as planned.

Wanting to still get married and deciding that was our priority we decided to keep our July 10th, 2021 date and have a micro-wedding with our families in my parent's backyard. We rescheduled with our Vancouver venue and are hoping to have a big wedding celebration with all our friends and family on October 8, 2021. Planning not one but TWO weddings during this craziness has been stressful but I am so excited to celebrate our love and get to move into this chapter of our lives.
